Free Digital Photo Software
As a software designer I have created several digital photography software packages that I use to process my digital images. Some of these
packages are still works in progress, others are nearing completion.
I'm happy to make the following digital photography software products freely available. Please note that these packages are for Windows only
and no Mac version is planned as I do not own a Mac nor have any software development tools for Macs.
These tools are provided 'as is' with no guarantee or technical support. You may leave feedback/suggestions on the Contact page, but please don't expect a personal reply or acknowledgement. Updates may be posted on this page from time to
time an these will be announced in my blog.
My ISP provides me with a generous bandwidth allowance each month. Provided bandwidth is available, these downloads will be available. If, at
any time during a month, too much bandwidth is used then these downloads will be unavailable until the following month. Anyone who wants to host
these files on their web server should complete the form on the Contacts page.
Finally, the software is free, but you may make a donation for it if you so wish.
Image-Web-Ready
Current Version 1.0 - released 1st April 2007
This is a batch processor that is designed to prepare images for Internet Posting. Often, the same actions need to be performed on all images
prior to web posting, so this is a definite time save. The software can:
- Add a border/frame complete with matte and 3d effect.
- Add a caption/copyright message.
- Sharpen the image using an unsharp mask. This step can be repeated several times.
- Resize the image - both the pixel dimensions and the maximum JPEG file size can be specified.
- Convert the image to the sRGB color profile (provided the input image has an embedded ICC color profile)
- Embed the sRGB profile in the output images.
- Remove EXIF & IPTC data from the output image (to free up the space used by them).
- Process almost every type of image file available.
- Output the results in JPEG format.
